Dues cover your national membership, the catered food at every meeting and panel, and the initiation banquet. Paying them is the last requirement between a candidate and initiation.

First semester
Candidate Dues

Pay these once, during the semester you are going through candidacy. They cover your Beta Alpha Psi national membership, your initiation, and chapter dues for the term.

Member Dues

Chapter dues for an already-initiated member staying active this term. National membership is already on file, so these cover the chapter side only.
Pay this if You have been initiated in a previous semester.
Pay Member DuesPayment is handled by Square on their own checkout page. The chapter never sees or stores your card details, and a receipt is emailed to you when the payment clears.
If Dues Are a Barrier
Cost should not be what keeps you out.
Beta Alpha Psi National offers scholarships through its professional partners, and the officer team keeps track of what is open each term. If dues are the thing standing between you and initiation, say so before the deadline rather than after it.
Email any officer or the chapter inbox. The conversation stays between you and the officers handling it, and nobody else on the roster hears about it.
Where It Goes
Part of it leaves the chapter.
Dues are collected once but split two ways. The national portion goes to Beta Alpha Psi National, which maintains the honor society, the member records, and the standards the chapter is held to. The chapter portion stays here and pays for the semester.
The single largest line in that chapter budget is food. Every professional meeting and firm panel is catered, and that is where most of what you pay actually goes, along with the initiation banquet that closes the term.
Sponsorship covers a large share of what the chapter spends, which is what keeps student dues where they are.

Before you pay
Which one do I pay?
If you are going through candidacy this semester and have not been initiated yet, pay candidate dues. If you were initiated in a previous term and are staying active, pay member dues. If you are not sure, email the officer team before paying — sorting out a wrong payment takes longer than asking.
What if I cannot afford dues?
Tell an officer. Beta Alpha Psi National offers scholarships through its professional partners, and the officer team can point you at what is open right now. Reach out before the deadline rather than after it — the conversation stays between you and the officers, and nobody else on the roster knows it happened.
Do I get a receipt?
Yes. Square emails a receipt as soon as the payment clears. Keep it — it is your proof of payment if there is ever a question about your standing.
Are dues refundable?
The national portion is sent to Beta Alpha Psi National and cannot be refunded once submitted. For the chapter portion, contact the treasurer before the end of the term.
